Our little one has been in daycare since she was 18 months (now she’s 3) and over that time we’ve sent lots of different things with her to daycare. These are our top Daycare Must Haves! At our new school they provide a backpack and the supplies for arts and crafts, as well as a sheet and blanket for nap time, however we’ve had experience where we had to bring all of our own supplies. Over the years I’ve found things that we both absolutely love. Keep reading to see our Daycare Must Haves.
When my little one first started daycare she was in need of a bib, but I wanted to make sure it really covered her cute little outfits. So the Ikea KLADD PRICKAR Bib was perfect. It comes in a two pack and it covers everything. You can even use it for arts and crafts too. Plus its under $10.00
Up next is a cot cover, at first we just sent a crib sheet and blanket but I knew there had to be something better out there. I found the Urban Infant Toddler Nap Mat and fell in love! I ordered her two, one with pink flowers and the other is purple with multicultural princesses. I love it because it has a small removable pillow that slips into it’s spot. The fleece blanket is attached and it easily attaches to the cots at daycare. The whole thing rolls up into a nice easy roll. There is also a tiny pocket for a small stuffed animal. Not to mention it washes up extremely well. Other parents in the class noticed it and would always ask where it was from. You can get yours on Amazon.com They even have coordinating backpacks and neutral prints and prints for boys.
The next item is something you should already have in your pantry. Two ziplock bags! I keep 2 entire outfits, panties, extra socks, pants and 2 tops folded up and neatly tucked inside 1 bag in her backpack because she’s little and accidents happen. The other bag is empty and provides a place to put wet clothes.
A few other items I stick in her bag include her sun hat during the summer, sunscreen year round, and a tube of regular lotion (which never gets used, but it’s there just in case). That’s it, we try our best to keep things simple and easy.
