Seriously, the weather is starting to become a pain in the you know what! I hate to complain about the weather, especially since it’s one of those things that just are, but geez wiz, New Jersey is getting slammed. The freezing cold temperatures mean dry skin, hat hair, splitting cuticles, and other beauty woos. Not to mention the heat indoors just dry you out even more! Talk about potential beauty blunders.
First up, let’s chat about how to keep your hair at it’s peak regardless of the snow and cold weather outside. The best thing you can do is keep your hair thoroughly conditioned and moisturized. If you normally moisturize and seal daily, you might have to step it up to twice a day.
Have you expertly applied your makeup only to go out into the cold weather and then arrive at your destination to realize that your skin has dried completely out making your makeup look less than perfect? The solution here is again proper moisturizing. Don’t dismiss facial oils and serums! I’m especially loving incorporating oils into my skin care regimen and my skin is thanking me.
Next, onto the body. I know you’ve heard that you should shower in lukewarm water, never hot and keep it to a minimum. I just can’t! I enjoy my nice hot showers and when I get a chance to stay in the shower longer than just a few minutes, I do it. To keep my skin from drying out, I apply body oil before I get out. Then, I pat myself dry and follow up with a thick moisturizing cream.
