Fall/Winter Hair Care Regimen

This fall/winter I have to be more focused on healthy hair care, over the summer I took the ‘whatever’ approach.  Summer 2012 in terms of hair was all about weekly roller-sets, wearing my hair down, and not following the best hair care practices.  Fall/Winter is going to be a different story, the weather is harsher and I need to be more careful.

I’m still going to get roller-sets with a deep conditioner but not weekly, this will possibly be bi-weekly.  The other week I plan on doing my hair myself, this way I can steam, deep condition for longer periods of time, and do whatever treatments I need to do.  My hairstyles will be mostly buns and different types of down do’s.

My staples products for use at home will be Nutiva Coconut Oil ($16.00 for two 15 oz. tubs), Jamaican Black Castor Oil, Esuchen Rd Protein Cream, a rotation of different deep conditioners, my huetiful steamer is still going strong so I’ll be using that for steaming.  You can check out the steamer on amazon – Huetiful Hair and Facial Steamer (Free Shipping – 60 Day Risk Free Trial).

Sample At Home Plan:

Pre-Shampoo Treatment of Red Pimento Oil on Scalp the night before shampoo day.

Shampoo with Pureology Shamp’Oil Shampoo which is sulfate, silicon free.  Full review here.

Deep Condition under Huetiful Steamer with deep conditioning treatment of choice.

Final step is to style with low-no heat using coconut oil for moisture and shine.
