Inspiration for the look: Queen Latifah always looks great in a smoky, sexy eye, so when I learned she was wearing a leopard print dress, I knew it would look dramatic, yet well-suited, for hosting Mary J. Blige’s FFAWN Charity Event!

Sam tells us how to Rock the Look:

I always begin by using COVERGIRL Queen Collection Natural Hue Concealer dabbing it directly underneath the eye (Fine Tip: Always choose a shade lighter than your complexion to highlight the undereye area). Then I applied COVERGIRL Queen Collection Natural Hue Compact to unify varied tones for a flawless, even complexion.

Because I love a glowing, golden complexion, I use one of my all-time favorite products, COVERGIRL Queen Collection Natural Hue Mineral Bronzer in Brown Bronze nearest the hairline and also as blush. This adds luminosity to her already golden complexion and looks beautiful as it wears into the night!

For a dramatic, sexy eye statement, I chose COVERGIRL Smoky ShadowBlast in Bronze Fire. I began by applying the deeper shade over the entire lid as well as underneath the eye, surrounding Latifah’s eye in a smoldering brown shadow. Then using the pale opalescent shade on the browbone directly underneath the browbone, extending it towards the temples. For added drama, I applied COVERGIRL LiquilineBlast Eyeliner in Black Fire nearest the upper lashline and the inner rim of the eye! And lastly, I completed this smoky eye with two coats of LashBlast Fusion Water Resistant Mascara!

Since the eyes were strong, we decided to go with a nude lip statement. I always begin using a brown liner, COVERGIRL Queen Collection Lasting Lip Pencil in Chocolate to add definition and fullness to the lip. Then, I used a lipbrush to apply COVERGIRL Queen Collection Lipcolor in Cool Khaki to blend the liner and lipstick seamlessly. Lastly, I apply a dab of COVERGIRL ShineBlast Lip gloss in Glow to the center of her mouth to add dimension and shine!
