I'm beyond elated that I found a place where I can purchase the same exact stuff my dermatologist was using for my chemical peels online. Seriously, I was paying $200 per peel and my derm recommended I get a peel every 6 weeks so you do the math. After my very first peel I couldn't help but think to myself, if I could find this stuff she's using I could totally do this myself. All I did was prep my own face using a alcohol prep pad, she applied the peel with a sponge makeup applicator and then I rinsed my own face with freezing cold water. Three little steps for $200? Come to find out my derm was using 20% Salicylic Acid, a quick google search returned thousands of hits, but I went with Skin Laboratory. I ordered and within a few days I had my very own bottle of 20% Salicylic Acid and I was ready to get started. The application as I already said was super duper easy and I'm seeing some slight results already. I plan on doing this peel every 4 weeks until I'm completely satisfied with the results so I'll be sure to keep you posted.

April 7, 2010 3:31 PM Did you use some kind of alcohol prep pad when you did the peel at home? Also did you use anything afterwards, or just a gentle moisturizer? Thanks so much for sharing all this information.
April 9, 2010 1:21 AM I just discovered you could buy prescription strength peels online also, and I will be doing it myself as well. My derm uses a long cotton swab/Q-tip to apply it and don't forget to neutralize.

April 9, 2010 2:46 PM I used a regular alcohol prep pad on my skin first and afterwards I use some of the lotion I had left over from the peels I had done in the Derm's Office.
