Black Amethyst by Estee Lauder

Last night before work I decided to paint my nails before work. I picked Black Amethyst by Estee Lauder out of the beauty closet and proceed to paint away using a new technique (more on that later if it holds up). The color is to die for, it's a deep dark purple and in some lights it looks more raisin than purple.

Please excuse the 22 gauge needle in the background, I told you I did it right before work. Anyway, it's the color fab!?! Plus, the shine?!? Amazing. I used Essie Good to Go topcoat and Sally Hansen Shea Butter Rapid Finish Nail Color Dryer. This is probably the first time I used the Sally Hansen Shea Butter product and I love it. It's kind of like a dry oil spray that helps nails dry fast and conditions the cuticles.

Unfortunately the nail polish shade was a limited edition that has now sold out.

How-to: Soft Silky Skin

I just stepped out the shower moments ago and I couldn't even wait to dish about my new once weekly routine that has my skin feeling like butter! My dermatologist recommended face masks instead of my beloved scrubs to use on my face. Reluctantly, I've been neglecting my Philosophy Microdelivery Exfoliating Face Wash and my face feels like it's in need of a good scrub, so I decided to do a mask tonight.





So I hopped in the shower, washed my body and face. Then, I directed my shower head as low as it possibly goes, stepped out of the shower and applied Borghese Fango Active Mud to my face and décolletage. Once I was good and green, I hopped back in the shower avoiding the water and used my Sabon Body Scrub (Lavendar Apple, which actually smells more like Pink Lemonade).


I started down by my ankle and scrubbed each area of my body thoroughly working up, over, and down the other side (including my backside). By the time I was finished the Fango mask was getting a bit tight, so I rinsed everything off and OMG! My body feels like silk! My skin is super duper soft and I can't stop running my hands up and down my arms, it's so good I've decided that this will be my new weekly routine.

Bare Skin from Leslie Blodgett Perfume Diaries


Inspired by entrepreneurial powerhouse Leslie Blodgett’s dynamic life, Leslie Blodgett Perfume Diaries is a limited edition fragrance collection, created exclusively for Sephora, that revisits and evokes pivotal moments in Leslie’s life.


Luckily, I was able to score a sample of the fragrance and it's a completely womanly and ladylike scent. The notes feature top notes of Black Pepper, Freesia and Anise, heart notes of Iris, Vanilla Orchid, Plumeria and Patchouli, and dry down notes of Sandalwood, Labdanum and Musk.

I'm not quite sure why the name is Bare Skin, if anything this is bare skin x 100,000. There is nothing bare about this scent at all, it's heady and romantic. Perfect for date night.
